Applewood Farms in Browns Summit offers a small, high-quality summer horse camp experience designed for children who want real, hands-on time with horses.
Each weekly session is limited to just seven campers with two instructors, ensuring that every child is paired with their own horse or pony for the week. This personalized approach allows campers to build confidence and skills while forming a meaningful connection with their horse.
Campers receive daily mounted riding lessons focused on flat work and beginner jumping (when ready). Additional riding opportunities may include trail rides, bareback riding, and fun horse games.
Beyond riding, campers will learn important horsemanship skills such as grooming, feeding, tack cleaning, bandaging, and general horse care. Horse-themed arts and crafts and demonstrations are also included, creating a well-rounded and engaging experience.
This program is ideal for children who want both fun and meaningful learning in a safe, supportive environment—and many campers return year after year!
