BarkPark at Country Park

3905 Nathanael Greene Dr.

Greensboro, NC 27455

I am in love with BarkPark inside of Country Park. I have always loved Country Park growing up and then was able to experience it again with my children. Feeding the ducks will always be a favorite childhood memory. Located off Lawndale Drive it is easy to find 3905 Nathanael Greene Drive because it is the entrance ¼ mile from Pisgah Church Road if you are heading north on Lawndale Drive. BarkPark is open during the regular operating hours of Country Park, from sunrise to sunset.

On weekends and holidays, the beauty of Country Park is it is closed to vehicles making it necessary to park and walk presenting a slower and more beautiful pace of life.  On weekdays the park is open from 8 am to sunset; it is possible to drive through Country Park to the BarkPark and the entrances/exits. Please be mindful that the gates close at 4:30 pm.

These rules are for everyone's safety. BarkPark at Country Park Fundraising Committee is a diverse, volunteer group of dog-owning and loving folks dedicated to the establishment and maintenance of Greensboro's first dog park. In partnership with the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department, our volunteers coordinate activities and fundraising events.

The BarkPark at Country Park Fundraising Committee is always looking for volunteers. Their mission is as follows:

financially assist Greensboro Parks & Recreation in establishing and maintaining a clean, safe, contained environment where well-behaved canines can exercise and socialize off-leash without endangering or annoying people, or wildlife;

 promote the humane treatment and foster the quality of life for companion dogs and their owners through the use of social interaction, exercise, and on-site clinics;

promote responsible pet ownership in the community by offering opportunities to vaccinate, spay, and neuter.

Dog Park Tips

Follow the rules! Typical dog park rules include:

  • Dogs must be spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines and shots, and supervised at all times.
  • Clean up after your pooch! No one wants to step into that mess.
  • Know your dog: If you have a dog that has shown aggression toward other animals, children, or adults, it's best to leave them at home.
  • Taking your kids? Supervise them closely! Let them know that running and loud play aren't a good idea around dogs they don't know well and teach them how to approach a dog to pet it.
  • Don't bring your lunch. It only invites begging and aggressive behaviors.
  • Be polite and considerate of other park users. Common sense prevails!
